Danny Concepcion

He was a consistent honor student having graduated Valedictorian, both in elementary and high school. He finished Agricultural Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, at the De La Salle Araneta University in 1979 and was a topnotcher in the Board Examination he took that year. He studied Law at the University of the Philippines graduating Cum Laude in 1983 and was a topnotcher in the Bar Examination given that year. He earned his Master of Laws degree from the University of London in1986 as a Chevening Scholar. Upon his return to the country in 1987, he was invited to join the Faculty of the UP College of law where he is presently a professor in civil law and commercial law, and a Bar Reviewer in civil law.

He was elected member of the Interim Batasang Pambansa in 1978 and served until 1984 as a representative of the youth sector. He was the youngest Commissioner of the Securities & Exchange Commission until his resignation in 2000 to become President of the De La Salle Araneta University on-loan from University of the Philippines. At the end of his 2-year secondment, he was recalled by UP to serve as Associate Dean of the UP College of Law, Supervisor of the UP Law Center, and Director of the Institute of Judicial Administration.

He joined DZMM in 1996 as a co-host of the legal-advice-program Companero y Companera which was later renamed Usapang de Campanilla. Four of the co-hosts of this progam have moved on to become Senators of the country.

Presently, he is a Rehabilitation Receiver or Liquidator of several top corporations.

Danicon, as he is fondly called by his students, radio listeners, and colleagues is a Fellow of the Upsilon Sigma Phi, a past president of the Rotary Club of Valenzuela, and the President of the Kapisanan ng mga Migranteng Pilipino sa Japan.
